We love a good shortcut in our house, but I’ll be honest- I was hesitant to buy an air fryer. Did I really need another appliance? I’m pretty minimalist when it comes to kitchen equipment, and I didn’t want something that took up a whole bunch of space that we never used.
Spoiler alert: we use it ALL the time.
And not just for reheating leftover french fries or chicken nuggets (though of course, we use it for those things too!). We LOVE it for easy air fryer salmon, quick roasted veggies like broccoli (below!) and so much more.
My ONLY complaint with our air fryer is I wish it were bigger! Ours fits about a head and a half of broccoli, and my kids eat that amount up RIGHT away. But we can’t complain about that, can I? Here’s our favorite method for easy air fryer broccoli:
Easy Air Fryer Broccoli Makes 3-4 servings
1-2 heads broccoli, cut into bite-sized pieces 1-2 tbsp oil (I love using sesame for sesame broccoli, but avocado, olive or coconut oil will do too!) sea salt or kosher salt, to taste garlic powder, to taste
1. Preheat air fryer to 370. Spray air fryer with cooking spray (I use Chosen Foods avocado oil spray) and preheat for 2 minutes.
2. Toss broccoli with enough oil to coat. Generously season with salt and garlic powder and toss to combine.
3. Add broccoli to tray in a single layer and cook for 8-10 minutes, tossing once halfway. Serve with sesame seeds on top (if making sesame seed broccoli), or as-is!
