Ingredients
1 tbsp neutral oil, as needed
1 lb ground beef (turkey or pork works here, too)
1/2 tsp sea salt*
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
dash cracked black pepper
*I also love to add a pinch of smoked paprika for that smoky feel
For bowls:
4 cups finely shredded romaine lettuce
1 cup sliced grape or cherry tomatoes
1 cup diced or sliced red onion
crumbled cooked bacon (optional)
burger sauce (see below)
pickles
french fries (optional- we use frozen!)
optional additions:
avocado
shredded cheese
Big Mac-style Burger Sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp chopped pickles (or pickle relish- will be sweeter)
1 tbsp dijon mustard
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp paprika
The sauce is delicious! I prefer vegan, so for a bowl I used vegan mayo to make the sauce. I swapped the burger meat for a tempeh, corn and sweet onion bake and I had rice pilaf in the house. I also made wrap sandwiches with the above tempeh bake and this burger sauce. Your recipes and cooking methodologies are amazing!
