1 tbsp neutral oil (divided)
1 lb ground beef (alternately, this recipe works great with thinly sliced steak- see notes)
kosher salt (as needed)
black pepper (as needed)
1 onion (sliced)
1 bell pepper (sliced)
2 whole garlic cloves (minced)
1 1/2 tsp ginger (minced- about 1” piece)
2 cup broccoli (chopped small- about 2 small heads)
2 cup pineapple (chopped)
10 oz teriyaki sauce (1 ¼ cup– store bought or homemade)
2 green onions (sliced thin)
2 tsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Heat 1 tbsp oil over medium-high heat. Add beef, season generously with kosher salt and pepper and cook until no longer pink. Remove and set aside.
- To the same pan, add onion and bell pepper. Season and saute until soft. Stir in garlic and ginger.
- Stir in broccoli and cook for 1-2 minutes until broccoli is bright green. Add teriyaki sauce and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add beef back to pan along with pineapple. Let cook 3-4 minutes until pineapple is warm and broccoli is cooked through. Serve over rice topped with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
