Ever bought those little drinkable yogurts for your kids at the grocery store?? Us too- they’re easy and so fun (especially when they have characters!) but they’re pretty darn expensive– a pack of four runs us about $4.19 for 6 ($.70 a serving)- so I decided to try making them from home to see how much I could save… and it cost me $0.32 for DOUBLE the amount (plus, there are actually enough ingredients for 24 servings!). That’s an easy breakfast option I can get behind!

I’ve tried these with two options- kefir, which fermented milk- similar in property to yogurt but thinner; and much more similar to a drinkable yogurt consistency in and of itself (the flavored kefirs are fun- but I usually find them super sugary!) and with half milk, half yogurt. My kids tend to prefer the kefir option- but yogurt works just as well (adjust milk as needed for desired consistency, as each yogurt has varying thickness).
Make these with your kids, this week!
Three-ingredient drinkable yogurt (with options!)
Makes 12 3-oz servings
2 cups frozen fruit
2 cups kefir OR 1 cup greek yogurt and 1 cup milk of choice (adjust as needed for desired consistency)
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup for added sweetness (optional)
1. Combine frozen fruit and kefir or yogurt and milk in a blender. Add honey or maple syrup as desired for added sweetness.
2. Blend well. Divide between containers (we usually divide in 6-8 oz portions, as my kids are 5 and 9, but store-bought is typically 3-ounces!
